I've created a short Captivate Presentation on how to record narrations in powerpoint 2007. Powerpoint has a great built-in recording utility. We often use this as a first step in getting presentations on the Web.

Results of the first Technology Assesment

The good news is we have no where to go but up! Our starting score on the 10 question technology quiz is 44.16%

But we covered 1 of the 10 questions in depth. By the end of the 12 sessions I bet we'll bump that up considerably.

Northwest Area Health Education Center kicks off its monthly Technology Forum

Monday December 1, 2008 the Northwest Area Health Education Center hosted its inaugural technology forum.

The monthly series focuses on improving the NWAHEC staff's collective knowledge and utilization of new and available tools to improve the health of its seventeen county region. The forum will feature a different host each month who will ensure the staff moves efficiently through 3 general agenda items.

  1. The forum will open with reports and updates by staff members who have used, are using or plan to use featured tools from the previous months topic.
  2. The bulk of the forum will center around a topical presentation which will show pracical uses of the featured new technology.
  3. The last part of the fourm is an optional hands on lab where users can pose specific implementation questions to the technology support staff.
The first forum featured a pretest which was delivered via audience response sytem. This assement will serve as a baseline guage of the collective knowledge and utilization of the NWAHEC staff. I will post the results of this survey in a separate post.

The topical presentation was presented by me (Chris Jones) and focused on Social Networking Sites. The presentation can be viewed here.

The next presentation will be on blogging and will feature this blog as one of the examples.
